Rauch Fieldhouse Lehigh – Lehigh has a meet today (Sat), so we were pushed to Friday night. With both divisions competing, we were in for a late one. (Got back to Wiss around midnight…) Some good performances, along with minor improvements, means we’re doing something right.
Looking forward to getting the 4×8 to states, (Ruffner with a 2:02 so far) Brandon Haines and Brendan Tatko looked to post sub-2:05’s in the open 8. Tatko’s 2:04.35 3rd place finish is a PR indoors or out and nabbed him 3rd place. Haines got stuck in the middle of the field of 15 and could only negotiate a 2:08.
Jeevan Jouhal drew lane 5 in the 200, allowing him to PR in 24.46 (first time under 25) scoring a 4th place medal.
Running his first mile this season, Grayson Ruffner showed aggressiveness by leading the ‘hot heat’ for 5 1/2 laps before fading to 3rd, just missing the MOC time. 4:42.53 for the effort.
Notables MIA were Jaylen Foster gel pack burns (don’t ask…), Matt Winkowski sore foot.
