Lansdale, Pa. – With our first dual meet moved and our inter-squad meet rained out last Saturday, it’s been a month of practices without a competition. We needed this to test our newbies and to see where our returnees stood.

Early afternoon showers gave way to sunny skies by 2 o’clock. Medals were hard to come by as only top three were awarded (as many as 60-70 kids per event!). Grayson Ruffner grabbed his 3rd place in the 1600 running 4:33.53, a bit off his freshman school record of 4:32. Joining him with another 3rd was Julian Perkins with his PR discus toss of 127-5. Perk also PRd in the javelin scoring a 5th place with 140-6.

Vikram Iyer PRd by a foot with his 41-1.5 triple jump (5th).

In the ‘Best for Last’ catagory, the freshman 4×1 was prepping for the freshman event in the upcoming Penn Relays in a few weeks. Seeded with a time of 46.5, they shocked themselves (and me) dropping a 44.86 placing 12th over-all. This time will probably be the top seed at the Penn Relays trials on the 17th. There’s more there, as the hand-offs were just OK!

Props to Jason Murry, Quinton West, Jayden Davis and Dominic Harvey-Sheppard.

MIA – #1 hurdler – foot injury, #1 sprinter – various, # 2 800 – foot injury, #3 800 – ill, #1 pole vault – frisbee team. Also, 21 are missing for spring break.
