Last year we handed them a 78 – 72 win on a silver platter by self-destructing. This year we almost did the same but compensated for the ‘let-downs’ with some ‘step-ups’.

Liam Davies ended his regular season undefeated at both 110HH and 300IM and kicked off the meet with a win and later, secured the 110s.

Most dual meets take about 1.5 hours to complete. This one zoomed along and by 4:30 we were lining up for the 4×4, which meant our 400 guys were gassed. Qtown doesn’t use their sprinters in anything over 200 and our guys where doubling back off the 400 and 200 in what seemed like only minutes. Qtown lined up with fresh legs and we needed this one to win. We put Rahsheed Wright (49.02 PR) in the 3rd spot to open up a gap for rookie Carmen Ostroski. Q-towns’ guy wouldn’t go away and that set up their anchor, state 800 silver medalist Hudson Delisle, to strike from about 5 yards back. He caught and began to pass Carmen down the home stretch but our guy found something else, lunged at the line and pulled off the win. Both teams timed in 3:32.6.
