When the meet director came walking over to us with a trophy, I asked him what it was for. He said “It’s yours”. “What do you mean?” I said. ” You won the team title!” TEAM TITLE! (Who knew?) Usually, if a team title is at stake, one might work a line up to score maximum points. We went in with qualifying marks as a goal. No more than two events per man. Some, three short events. Some only one and done.
The guys outscored all 31 teams in attendance and picked off 2nd place Pennridge 69-67. Out of the 32 events or relay legs contested, there were 16 personal records (PR) on the day.
Ahmir Johnson led the way by winning the 110 hurdles in a PR of 15.14, helping the shuttle hurdle team to a win (#1 Pa.) with a 14.8 PR split and taking 2nd in the long jump with 21-9.5.
Cam Christopher had another big day with a 49.63 PR second place finish at 400M and a 48.8 split on the 4×4 relay (second place) also a personal best. His 400 ranks him #3 in the state so far.
Rahsheed Wright had the fastest qualifying time in the 100M but cramped up in the final and failed to finish. It took him out of the 4×100 relay which finished in second by .01 without him.
Other notable PRs: Ben Hoyer and Trey Hippensteal at 3200M, Justin Ryan and Matt Maiale at 1600M, Marlyn Johnson 300IH.
Big second place points came from: 4×100 (Max Davies, Darnell Watson, Sam Kane, Antaun Lloyd), 4×400 (Sam Kane, Eric Papazian, Cam Christopher, Max Davies), Justin Cooper Shot Put.
