With rain and thunderstorms looming and a nice day predicted for Wed, attempts to postpone were thwarted when all calls to PW went directly to voicemail until it was too late. Cold, drizzle and eventual rain were the order of the day. Ahmir Johnson must be part duck as he had 4 PR’s, including the #3 Wiss-All-Time long jump of 22-8, 15.7 for his first time over a full flight, a 5-10 high jump and finished the day with a 43-7.5 TJ.
Rahsheed Wright looked strong in his 100 but with his hand time of 10.4 (?!), I didn’t think he looked THAT strong. (In reality, if he HAD run 10.4, the 11.3 in second would have been a lot further back.) But, hand timing is what it is…… In the second heat, Shamere Dunswell PR’d in 10.8 placing second over-all. (Again, ?!) Wright came back later and tested the waters at 800 using a big kick off a slow pace to pick up the win in 2:09.9.
Looks like we have 3 legit hurdlers with Marlyn Johnson almost dead-heating with Ahmir in 15.7 and a much-improved Liam Davies chopping 8 tenths off his previous best with 16.0.
