Another ‘over-the-break’ meet. But for a few exceptions, a lackadaisical affair.
This week, the distance medley was the race we were after. But, after a ‘not too bad’ 3:24 1200 by Cam Christopher, the next two legs put us in a big hole. Not to be denied, anchor Ben Hoyer grabbed the stick and took off after the leaders. Making up about 50 meters en route to his 4:42 PR, he battled down the stretch going for the win. Coming up short to Twin Valley by .05.
Ahmir Johnson continued his winning ways in the triple jump. A week ago, 45-10 would have deserved a parade but after bouncing a 46-7 at meet #2, well…….. he now has the top two jumps in PA.
Other than Ben’s 1600 DMR leg, other PRs came from Sam Klugherz in the 3000, his sixth place finish saw him cut 16 seconds of his previous best (10:22 down from 10:38), and Max Davies’ 53 sec 4×4 leg (down from 55).
