The distance guys and pole vaulters fought back the Quakertown throwers to help seal the deal on Saturday as the boys captured their fifth straight SOL American title. With Q-Town shot putters scoring 33 points by sweeping places 1 through 5 and their discus throwers taking the first two spots for 18 points, they felt a sure win coming. But….over on the track, the Trojans were busy going 1,3,5,6,7 for 25 points in the 3200 and going 1,3,7 for 19 points in the 1600.

Meanwhile, the vaulters were busy avenging their embarrassing performance just this past Tuesday when the Q-town vaulters swept  us in the dual meet. Noah Kilshaw hit a life-time best of 11-6 winning the tie-breaker for first place, pushing their guy back to second. Behind Noah’s win, our crew nabbed 3rd, 4th and 7th for a big 22 point haul.

As the meet wound down, with only the 4×4 left on the track, the meet was still within reach for the Panthers. But Ahmir Johnson, Carmen Ostroski and Christian McCarry were quietly putting their own nails in the coffin. First, second and fourth places in the triple jump for 23 points were just too much for Q-Town to handle. Game over. Us 186 – Them 166. (Add the dual meet win points, Us 256 – Them 226)
